Removal of amoxicillin via chromatographic monolithic columns: comparison between batch and continuous fixed bed

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study presented a hydrophobic interaction-based poly(HEMA-MATrp) monolithic chromatographic column (MCC) to remove amoxicillin from aqueous solutions. In addition their porous structure, monolithic-filled columns offer superior properties without loss of performance, which is one the points that make them unique. The specific surface area synthesized by bulk polymerization 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and N-Methacryloyl-L-tryptophan. Also, poly(HEMAMATrp) MCC has been characterized via FTIR, SEM, elemental analysis. According BET analysis, 14.2 mg/g. adsorption desorption in an solution were investigated comparatively both continuous fixed bed batch adsorption. highest value was determined at pH 7 presence PBS as 62.11 appropriate isotherm for Langmuir, reaction kinetics pseudo-second-order. No significant observed capacity after 5 cycles adsorption-desorption studies. just %5.2 6-month storage, proving reusability storability column.

Morphological and chromatographic characterization of molecularly imprinted monolithic columns

The chromatographic stationary phases based on molecularly imprinted monoliths were prepared by free radical polymerization and subsequently characterized. The mixture of commonly used comonomers of ethylene dimethacrylate/methacrylic acid was polymerized in presence of various porogenic mixtures. Tosyl-L-phenylalanine was selected as a model template. Polymerization steps were carried out in t...

Removal of sulfamethoxazole and sulfapyridine by carbon nanotubes in fixed-bed columns.

Sulfamethoxazole (SMX) and sulfapyridine (SPY), two representative sulfonamide antibiotics, have gained increasing attention because of the ecological risks these substances pose to plants, animals, and humans. This work systematically investigated the removal of SMX and SPY by carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in fixed-bed columns under a broad range of conditions including: CNT incorporation method, so...

Preparation and characterization of monolithic porous capillary columns loaded with chromatographic particles.

Using sol-gel technology, a porous glass matrix (xerogel) is formed in a capillary column and acts as a support for a stationary phase of chromatographic particles used in capillary electrochromatography. Preparation of the sol-gel matrix and immobilization of the octadecylsilica (ODS) stationary phase occur in a single step. The presence of the particles in the column greatly reduces matrix cr...
